Western Cape Premier Helen Zille was the honorary guest speaker, saying that she wants government to take social enterprise more seriously in future, as a way to harness goodwill and achieve a sustainable difference.
Peter Shrimpton, CEO and Founder of Heart, spoke of a new way of giving that is needed to sustainably address the escalating social and environmental crisis the planet is facing. Social enterprises are proving to be the answer.
More than 200 guests engaged with and were inspired by a showcase of social enterprises in Heart’s portfolio – posting their wishes for South Africa, adding their values to a community pole, buying merchandise with soul, sampling wines with a conscience, and discovering a new veggie growing concept. And The Rudimentals rounded off the night of good, wholesome fund with their awesome sounds.
