On 02 April 2009, an auction with a difference is being held at Summerville in Camps Bay to celebrate Charity Wines’ second anniversary. Guests will help raise funds for Charity Wines, by bidding for fabulous items such as international cricket match tickets, a signed Springbok jersey, fine wines, holidays, jewellery and a whole lot more.
The auction will take place after a delicious four-course meal that will cost guests the special price of R300 per person. Distell, one of the headline corporate sponsors of Charity Wines, has provided the complimentary wine and a welcome glass of bubbly.
Charity Wines is a social enterprise that raises funds through the sale of wine generously donated by wine farms. Funds raised support NGOs relevant to the wine industry, for example, caring for children severely disabled as the result of foetal alcohol syndrome. In its two years, Charity Wines has raised over R500 000 for winelands NGOs.
