Who’s growing what?
Grow South Africa (GSA) is a “one-stop transformation” shop. This means providing a platform for companies, organisations and individuals who are involved in initiatives that aim to make South Africa a better, safer and richer place to live. We also provide transformation practitioners with cutting edge information, intelligence, news, strategic direction and tools so that they can grow South Africa even more.
It’s really about growing pride and good practice in our beautiful country. (Yes, we are unapologetically passionate about South Africa.)
The problem with transformation in South Africa is not a lack of money; it’s a lack of cohesion and collaboration. In fact it’s a multi-billion Rand industry. What happens is that, with so many key players (like government, corporate, NGOs, social enterprises and active citizens) and so many initiatives (such as BEE, CSR, CSI and Sustainable Development) working in silos, on their own initiatives, you get a lot of duplication and not enough collaboration. Where are the forums? The networks? the information distribution channels?, you may ask. Good question. Without these, you may gather, there will be very little transparency, disclosure and accountability, which makes reporting unreliable and irregular. That’s where GSA comes in.
